We have had a productive year. A key highlight was our support group being granted a charity status and being invited to attend a reception at Buckingham Palace with His Majesty the King and other UK charities, recognising their ongoing contributions.
AWCG also works closely with cancer charities and academic institutions, collaborating to advance research, promote education, and ensure better outcomes for those on this difficult journey. Beyond these vital services, we come together to enjoy social activities – reminding us all that even during hardship, joy and community can still flourish.
Asian women Cancer Group also held numerous successful “Workshops” during the year, which were well attended by members. The feedback was positive. Apart from our regular weekly activities we also held other several sessions: Mother’s Day event in March, fund raising in June, picnic in July, day out at the seaside in August, Macmillan coffee afternoon in September and our members evening in November.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated committee members and volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes. This group simply would not function without their commitment.
